Hohoho is over but I had a splendid weekend not with hoo-haa celebrations but the very fact that it was both Christmas itself as well as my annivasary with wilson (1 yr 10 mths!).

being able to spending time together is gd enough for me but my dear suggested us going out.

bcos of the random downpour/drizzles, wilson know i'm gonna grumble alot so he got smart today. suggested we take bus instead and truly, that minimized my grumbles down to zero! hahahahaha something to shield you from the rain is always better.

initially our plans were to go eat botak jones BUT, it's both a MONDAY (they close on all mondays) and a public holiday, so we had to scrap that plan and head for plan B. so what's plan B? A random trip to marina square that is! havent' been there for quite awhile so we decided to go there instead. but before that we headed back to wilson's house first to grab a letter, brainwashed his brother into driving us to go visit his mom and subsequently sending us back out to a nearby bus stop (bro so sweet aye?) and from there we took yet another bus to suntec city. didn't really walk ard in suntec at all cos we've been there pretty often so we head straight to marina square instead. walked around window shopping, i actually cant remember much of what i did. haha! maybe just happy walking around and rambling nonsense with my gu. think we talked alot of cock. i remembered us having walked into bearyhip and there were all these cute soft toys and a door knob cover!!

everywhere else is starting to have sale and of course, BALENO too lah! so gu bought a pair of jeans there hehehe $25 only! so now wilson completed task 2 of year 2006. what a splendid day.

me? i accidentally *ahem* let myself into ZARA and impulsively bought a dress.

i bought this!!

Having spare cash around is dangerous for my erm.. wallet's health so i decided to surrender my money over for savings tonight to my mommy.

How can we not have taken pictures together on a christmas!?
yea!?

so here goes lol.

we took this shot from level two. we were previously @ level one just right below those dangling purple balls you see in the background. wilson was looking up and walking left and right. he say the ball might fall down and hit us and since he's taller (abit) than me, he'll get hit first. or mebbe he'll slam them towards me. wah lau.

anyway, i'm probably gonna meet up with yifeng for botak jones this weekend and shaikha to teach her EXCEL. i still wanna pass iman and lijun their presents. haiz.

sunday wilson and i watched movie with sano n nadiah.

taiyou no uta aka midnight sun.

not bad but i prob won't buy the DVD/VCD to keep. I like the songs though. They're pretty gd. Not implying that it's a bad movie. Interested ppl may still give it a shot. the reason why i won't buy the DVD for keepsake is probably cos i didn't think the story was strong enough.

with my kino vouchers *bdae & xmas exchange) i bought up quite a no. of stuff (that i wanted of course. calculated purchase yea.)
  • Organizer for 2007
  • Beaded Jewellery making book
  • Fantasy book by Terry Goodkind

met up with chingling at night to claim my chicken wings and teh peng lol. they decided to bet once again and we went up to CL's hse and this time the match was a draw AGAIN and so i won another meal of chicken wings LOL!

i swear they don't dare ask me go along when they bet already. i keep winning for nothing hahahaha

i intend to get mushishi sometime next week cos i didn't have the chance this week. the rain is not making things any easier.

Here's what I've gotten for xmas from my sweet sweet colleagues!!!

Dec 16 - XMAS PARTY @ ATUL'S

On a Sat we had a xmas celebration cum dinner at Atul's condo.

But before that, I had some issues at work and got woken up by a phone call at 10AM (damn!) and had to subsequently rush back to office to deal with it. poor wilson had to wake up along with me and so i pacified him with Helen's lollipop stash as well as a chrysanthenum packet drink from our pantry *hehehe*

Finally what I can do is done, we had out to visit Wilson's mom and afterwards we left to go to upper east coast rd's Beach Road Prawn Mee and had our long-time-no-eat hokkien mee as gor pang (aka. 五香 or basically some chinese food lah)

i forgot what we did afterwards. probably went home to rest for awhile before heading out again at around 5pm or so to buy some pastries to bring to the xmas party. oh yea i remembered wrapping presents at home. there's supposed to be a gift exchange.

when wilson and I got to the condo not many people arrived yet but there was our editor and his cute cute dog!!!! i don't really like flat muzzle dogs esp shi tzu. always thought they're quite ugly but this dog quite cute! like... furry and fluffy hahaha then it hardly barked except on a few occasions where his owner walked away for awhile. it's super attached to its owner. whenever the owner walks away slightly it'll whimper and cry and eventually bark once.

it has the IKEA heart-shaped cushion wrapped round its collar. haha

Cookie

there was then Atul (duh!), and basically there was around 8 of us who's there (including me).

The rest came slightly later but there was the roast turkey and roast beef and roast lamb and roast ham hahahahahha then there were my pastries, wayne's sushi, curry, birthday cake (someone's bdae!) and etc etc

played some simple games and then came the gift exchange. wah lau i got toilet seat cover lor! hahahaha pengz. another producer of ours kena toilet cleaning brush. lol!

around 11pm - 12am some of the ppl left but there was still some of us who stayed on so we played some card games. I LOST ALL MY COINS BASKET! hahahaha anyway, by the time we got home it was around 2am. (die lah!!!!!)

why die?

cos i'm supposed to meet LC and her friends for the Tree Top Walk.

I'M SUPPOSED TO WAKE UP AT 6.30am!!!

i DID wake up at 6.30 to give Min Hung a wake up call but me n wilson soon fell back asleep lol! then we took turn jabbing each other but continued lying till a phonecall from LC send us flying hahahaha by the time i took that call it was 7:10am!!! she was like, "we're on our way".

i jumped out of bed and chiong to the kitchen to brush my teeth.

shockingly, we made it to dwnstairs to get into the car on time wahahahaha

so we are heading to the reservoir. Helen was supposed to come and join us BUT she got home late last night so end up cannot come *ceh!*

but actually hor, think even if she came also cannot make it. damn difficult to walk.

reservoir
reservoir

it started to drizzle a little but we walked on without any umbrella. it was a pretty long journey but you could see lotsa senior citizens jogging and families having their day-out. as you get further along the trail, there's less people in sight and it gets pretty tiring and tough to walk. it's worse than pulau ubin. from what i've heard, there's only 3 years left before HSBC stop sponsoring for the maintenance of the Tree Top Walk. Thereafter I think it'll get kinda run down and perhaps even dangerous. the slopes we tiring and some areas started getting muddy because of the rain. for me, it seems like an never-ending walk with the gravel sound behind you while we crapped and chatted along the way. didn't see any animals or wadever.

Here's the suspension bridge!!!

actually we took lotsa shots here but it was with LC's friend's camera. i took the above 2 shots with my handphone instead.

mega ant
one bite from it and that's it.

towards the later part of the walk it started raining CRAZILY. serious. crazy downpour. we had to start walking with our umbrellas and what's worse was that me n wilson, we were wearing slippers all these while!!!

but then again, besides having the sand going btwn our feet and the slipper that caused much discomfort, it's all in all that bad an idea cos imagine u're on trackshoe then end up it gets soaked and your socks are wet. u're link is so gonna stink man. we walked for damn long and still the trail has not ended and i'm getting damn tired and couldn't think straight anymore. had to hang on to wilson for support to drag myself and keep walking.

when we finally FINALLY got out, it was 3 hours later.

then we saw monkeys. well, at least that's something! the monkeys are smaller than i expected! the babies one are damn cute. then saw some mother monkies carrying their babies.

saru-tachi

darnest things these monkeys do. they were like digging the ground for insects, checking out each other's butt. grooming and all and i was about to move forward to get a better shot of the monkeys and two stupid china teenaged girls just rudely came into the picture and were posing for their own photos. idiot.

we went for bah kut teh @ eunos after we left the reservoir. after "lunch", wilson and i took a bus home from the interchange and after a bathe, we went to nap immediately haha

I caught sight on a RAINBOW in Bedok Interchange!!!!

It's not a lot but it's something and it has been awhile since i last saw a rainbow. rainbows are nice to look out and as i stood staring at it i can see it gradually fading away so i decided to take a pic to capture its remaining moment.

i met up with karen on thursday. it's been quite a long while since i last saw her or even chatted with her online cos she's been busy with exams n all for the past month or so.

i met up with her right after work for dinner and to chat up and also to give her the tomato keychain i made for her. to me it's a tomato lah but to her she calls it apple lol so.. apple lor!

my keychain has been raising debate in my office about whether it shld be tomato or cherry.

we had a long chat but before that, we had our dinner at plaza sing in long john and i was given this belated present heh

it's supposed to be a pencil holder.
the keychain was a mini-lighter. karen say it was supposed to light up but there were only sparks. wilson was asking me to put some kerosene on it. O_o

i took it to put in my office liao along

i thought it was abit too troublesome to be putting my stationery inside so i decided to put sweets instead heh cos if not the photo frame will like "block" me each time i wanna grab a pen or something.

xxxxxxxxxx

We had a xmas lunch celebration on the 15th of Dec and it was quite a spread but i only liked the chicken breast meat hahahahaha

couldn't like take a pic of the trays open with all the food cos by then all the big bosses are around. very malu. then all the hungry ppl started crowding around already.

we had a gift exchange shortly after and also some announcements (BONUS!) WOO! and also that the company's gonna give us an extra off day on the 29th so it's a super uber long weekend for me!~!

i requested for a kino voucher so that's what i got for my gift exchange heh. i knitted a tomato keychain for a colleague of mine and intend to do one for a few more other colleagues.

Getting a haircut... finally.

my hair has been haywire for the longest time ever since i outgrew my last rebonding session and my hair has always been rather wavy and tends to tangle up a lot...

so damn dulan. cannot take it and finally made that decision to part with my money and rebond again.

was trying out a new salon in parkway. it's near the overhead bridge and $10 hair cut shop. It's called Choices. After looking at the name card I think it's actually just another 'brand' under the same umbrella (parent company) for both Choices and Speed ($10) hair cut shop.

i was told that i'll take 3 hours lor. but the amount of customers.......AT LEAST 6 OF THEIR HAIR STYLIST ATTENDED TO ME LOR. kept rotating around. end up i sat there for 5 hours. basket. bladder nearly burst. in the end cannot take it so right after my last round of hair rinse i told them i need to take five and visit the loo.

so each hair stylist (one cute guy!!) took turn to twiddle with my hair and chatted up with me. another chatted with me quite long about sony ericsson phone then cracked some lame jokes.

a few typcical stuff repetitively happened EACH & EVERY TIME a new hairstylist take over the task of twiddling my hair. (remember, already 6 hair stylist took turn twiddling..)

they'll ask me this few questions.
  1. "you very long never rebond liao hor"
  2. "your hair very thick hor!"
  3. "your hair very wavy hor!"
  4. "your hair very black hor!"
ah yes, my hair very black cos i have bad experience once when i tried to dye my hair and end up looking like a lion with bad hair day. my hair wavy cos my mom's hair like maggi. very thick cos my mom n dad had lotsa hair too. very long never rebond... U WANNA SPONSOR ISSIT?

but one thing cool abit this salon is that they have a mini tv on each table. bad news is... i'm as good as blind w/o my glasses and i had to take off my glasses so practically everything in sight in blurred. so when the stylists were talking to me, i'm just looking in their direction but i can't see their faces. i can see colours but the shape of everything is blurred. sigh. so whenever i get stuck in a salon it's quite sad cos i can't like bring a book or mag to read unless i stick them right in my face mebbe like only 10cm away frm the face or something.

wilson was off doing some bike maintenance and errands while i'm sitting in the salon msging sano to keep myself from dozing off. i had to rush off to meet at a producer's house for gathering at about 6pm and was supposed to grab food with another colleague at bedok interchange. since it look longer than expected for my rebond+hair cut to finish i was pretty grouchy.

but then all in all the hair turned out fine. wasn't too flat actually.

sneak preview

showed this pic to some friends and one was like "aiyo ur dark circles ah..."

hehehehe
so must bo liao take another picture

better now?

What better way to start off the entry with a picture that'll ignite u'r christmas spirits?

Paragon's Xmas Tree

Paragon's christmas tree has always been, in my opinion, the best in terms of decoration. Year after year after year they've managed to sorta take my breath a way. although Singapore doesn't snow and instead, it rains like mad... I still prefer a WHITE christmas as opposed to this year's GOLDEN theme one. all the xmas trees looked like ice-kachang *quoting wilson's description*

Right after taking the above picture, wilson and i was like in awe and as expected, wilson has yet another caption to contribute.

"like a starry night! full of stars hor!"

and yes indeed. the picture captured our imagination and it's as if the stars and slowly circling the tree to make its way up to the top of it where the brightest star will shine.

We were in town for me to grab some kinokuniya vouchers for xmas present exchange thingy we're having in my office. then i knitted this cute lil cherry keychain (forgot to upload pic) as a compliment to the vouchers. it's really damn cute and i'm quite happy with the result.

i saw a book authored by a female japanese that teaches one how to handmake jewelleries with all the wires and beads. the featured patterns are pretty nice and a few of them i'm very tempted to try BUT... the price of the book is around $34. i'm still thinking about it. it's abit costly...

i realised one thing. i enjoy handmaking anything alot. and the strangest thing is, i seldom keep what i make. i start on a project normally for the sake of others... as in to make something for others. i started off making the beaded knitted amulet bag for xmas gifts for others. then i made a bookmark specifically for sano's bdae. then i knitted hp pouches for wilson and now a cherry keychain (inspired by lijun's present to me) for a fellow colleague. it's a good feeling making things for others and you'll put in more effort to make sure it's presentable and durable for the use of others. they'll be the best judge of your handiwork.

sano's scarf started off badly though. the design i started with sucks.
i'll rework the entire thing soon.

I like taking photos with my gu so here's another one taken at the concourse of Ngee Ann City. It was pretty noisy that day since there's some sort of charity fun fare going on.

We walked over to Lucky Plaza to try out luck and see if we can get to eat the nasi lemak from there. Many times we've gone over to try our luck and the shop is closed. There's not much customers in the shop itself and dining there, one can't help but wonder how they survive operating under such circumstances.

Then i found my answer. They get orders from neighbouring shops and will deliver the food over. no wonder lar!

we went over to TANGS subsequently in attempt to find wilson's friend who is working there but it seems like a wasted trip. he's not working that day. only realised that when we were upstairs but we shopped around a little first.

Think it's been quite awhile since the both of us really shopped around Orchard lotsa new stuff and shops and we were like "WAH WAH" at the sights and sounds.... maybe just me lah. wilson is usually rather non-responsive to surroundings lol.

We made a trip to Far East Plaza for me to check out a beads shop to see if they sold keychain straps. They do but i think it's abit pricy.

Ahh..... suddenly recall what's our main purpose to orchard LOL. to eat korean ahahahhaha @ meridien hotel's foodcourt. damn long queue. then went plaza sing to check out SPOTLIGHT for polyester stuffings but damn alot so end up didn't buy any...

the above description of our day in orchard is actually a combination of friday and saturday. lol timeline abit screwed but aiyah....

Standard Chartered Marathon 2006

I slept abit late the night before because I was busy knitting my cherry keychain. then wilson came out for toilet and caught me up awake. so i had to hurry on up to finish my work and go to bed. he was complaining that he couldn't fall asleep since his bolster (me) is not available. no idea wad time it was already.

the infuriating part was......... we had to wake up at 5.45AM in the freakin morning.

ROAAAAAAAAAAAAR *toasts wilson's butt*

why? cos my gu go n join the standard chartered marathon. and he intends to do so every year. omg laaaaaaa.......

chiong ah......!

wonder why there's two separate tracks for running? the one nearer to you with the super tanned guy running (only guy in the track)is for the 42KM marathon. it's from one end of the island to the other end lor! the rest are for the half marathons and 10KM run.

I had to walk over from esplanade (there's where the starting point was) to padang (finishing point). i was so stupid lor. thank god my mom reminded me to bring along the guide that as a map of the marathon's trail and since wilson told me there's shuttle bus services bringing us to the finishing point i was searching around for the pick up point. then i realised my gu fed me false information basket! there's no blardi pick up point at esplanade and it's not for bring u to finishing line lar! then i even stupidly stationed at a place and saw alot of the joggers run past (one ah pek was wearing yukata!!!! and a straw hat! damn cute) and checked my map to realise that's only a viewing point. wah lau. so checked map again and realised padang actually damn near only and can walk over so i did. stupid.

there's alot of international reknowned runners. lotsa japanese kids too.

i stood near the finishing line and realise they created a gap with fences blocking viewers from officials from running track. wah laaaaaaau. then stupidly did not realise further down fencing was removed and can see runners and take pic only AFTER the race. double wah lau. then i wondered how to find my gu (since he nvr bring hp) when he finishes his race so i looked around for signs and saw "reunite area". so i just camped there till i saw my uber tired gu come out. SO PROUD I'M GONNA BURST.

my gu completed the race yea!

(then realised right... got injuries i.e. fractures.. cramps.. etc for the 42km runners..)

i even saw a girl puke on the road while running then decided to walk. O_O

after my gu came through we camped at the side. felt like slapping the women on my left. they're from VISA company la attempting to take pictures for the fellow colleague's who's running. LEAN ALL THE WAY OVER BO. BLOCK EVERYONE ELSE BEHIND WHO WANNA TAKE PIC. FUCKIN INSENSITIVE. Knn...

then i spotted a familiar face or rather.. colour. HL's blue tshirt LOL. saw her earlier on in the morning before gu started the run. then now i see her almost finishing the race. cheerios too!

we continued camping in hope to see kelvin finish his race. kor running the 42KM. then we even saw a man running barefooted for the 42km and he's on the way to the finishing line!!!! DAMN HARDCORE LAR.

it soon started to drizzle and so we decided to head for shelter instead and ran to Raffles City. i waited for quite some time before my stomach gave way and i decided to eat in burger king first. we wanted to wait for kelvin but there seems to be no sign nor sound from him at all and so we decided to head home first. wilson's abit over-heated from the run and is getting headache so we wanna head home for him to take a cool bath and take a nap. i can almost sense the smoke coming out from his head.

on a later note we came to know that kelvin injured his leg and thus walked the nxt half of the marathon to complete it. POOR GUY! but he's such a good sport. at least he perservered to finish the entire 42km ok!

we napped for a couple of hours before heading out to IKEA Tampines cos it's the last day for me to drop off the Quiz forms hehehehe

Reached tampines where the shuttle bus pick up point was and omg la.

where got so many people one!?

the bus ride there rather long and when we got there? damn big the place. because of the crowd it's quite haywired. lotsa people lotsa kids lotsa idiotic ppl and a stupid mother who rolled her pram's wheel over my feet.

there was a GIANT and a COURTS megastore just nxt to where IKEA was. the crowd of people coming here for shopping will be crazy. shall avoid this place for a few months.

some of the items were going off at a rather cheap price and so i bought more of the cheap wooden photo frames to add on more pictures to my "wall of friendship".

I've completed this anime like half a month ago or so and I liked it alot.
I'm most probably gonna try collection the anime as well but so far I've checked and for all 26 episodes, the DVD selling at the shop I went to cost about $88! shocking.

Mushishi (蟲師)

Mushishi

this is one very good anime to watch i tell u!

Here's a sneak preview for u!

hehehehehe

Some links sano showed me that mentioned about the Live Action movie of this anime.
Although I'm very excited after seeing some of the screenshots that showed really nice stuff... I don't know how I'll get to watch it though. it's very unlikely that it'll get to be aired in Singapore. this is so devastating!!!!

I feel horrible.

Barely one and a half hour into work, I'm missing my bed sorely.

My throat is sore. Damn the tonsils & the rain.
Popped 2 capsules of Panadol for cold relief and my head is groggy from all the sniffing.

Has been so since saturday. Damn it!

I'm contemplating taking a half day leave. rarghghghghhghahrghhghgh!

I can be very stubborn NOT-for-my-own-good by refusing to see a doc until maybe... I can't walk properly anymore or something.

It's the thought of spending the $$$ that stops me I guess.
I thought it was just a sneezing spell that would've gone away in two days.

xxxxxxxx

My lady boss treated me lunch @ Le Viet in Siglap yesterday. I like what I ordered. Beef Stew Noodles. Yum! Will bring gu n folks there nxt time. Will take pic as well. with boss abit paiseh. hahahaha we chatted briefly during the car ride (she was driving). wasn't as stressful as I thought.

Still... it's paiseh. haha

xxxxxxxx

I was walking to the kitchen last night with all my sniffles and runny nose then i saw this classic scene.

oh btw, i used up one entire box of tissue for my bloody nose.

anyway, back to what the classic scene was...

*drum rolls*

since it has been raining for the past few days and will probably continue to be so for the nxt one mth or so... stinky baby found a new hideout to sleep in. i was surprised to see something furry in the toilet roll i chucked into the hammie tank.

it was happily sleeping and i managed to get two nice photo shots then it woke up but still a little dazed so i took yet another shot and it proved to be damn cute!

Saw an entry on LJ's blog and decided to pen some tots about it.

I guess everyone would've once stopped and had the thought about death flashing across their mind at some point in time.

Some fears it. some accepts it as a part of life. some simply don't think about it.

I ever had an ex-colleague who don't really wish to live that long. perhaps dying at 50 would be good, she said.

since young i've always quite rejected the thought of death.
since having no religion to truly rely on to entrust my beliefs in, I'm therefore not certain about the true existance of afterlife, reincarnation, heaven vs. hell etc. i don't rule out possibilities of their existance, but i'm too realistic to accept it 100%. Therefore, I'm also unable to put faith onto something i'm uncertain of and to believe that death is some sort of deliverance from anything. perhaps i love living too much.

then i had another ex-colleague who sort of insisted i have to believe in something. either there's afterlife or there isn't. i sorta refuse to give an answer not that i'm in doubt just that i don't see the need to MUST have an answer nor the benefit of it. perhaps it gives her the peace of mind once having an answer. to me the answer does not give me solace. unless u tell me in my afterlife, i get to have my parents back as my parents, wilson back as my bf and husband, sano back as my best friend and every other friend i treasure back to what they are to me then, OK, i chose to believe. if not.. what's the significance of that inner decision? is it even up to us to decide? you won't know until you're dead so why bother to search for that answer?

when i was young i often dwell on the thought about death.
not the pain nor the horror. the only reason i fear death is to fear loss. my fear of loss is the basic motivation behind why i'm so protective of everything i have or people i love and know and death is the one enemy i face that'll strip me from all of it.

lying on my bed in a room filled with darkness my thoughts would wander endlessly and i'll find myself in tears from the pang of loss i feel when i think about the consequences a death may lead to. i can no longer be with the people i love. i can no longer do what i want. i can no longer live and breathe and see the colours of life. will others soon forget about me? even if those close ones remembered me it wouldn't be always. i'll soon be shelved aside at the back of the memories. years down the road when these people who remembers me dies, who else would know about me? and i'll cease to exist except to have a data in our govt's statistical records proving my existence. ever since then i no longer sleep in darkness. my lights are always switched on. that went on for years.

amusingly when i was a kid and with my fear of death and loss, i wondered what'll happen to my comics books. will my mom thrash it? if i gave it away will anyone still read it? will it be in good condition? i don't wanna burn it. mebbe i should bury it with me.

lol

thoughts of a kid who fears death.

i probably wouldn't be the kind who would think that i'll rather live a shorter yet more fulfilling life than a long one that's full of illness and regrets. not that it's not ideal or the model life but i probably won't go think about it. i simply want to live.

so i'm the least likely person to commit suicide. so right, if i suddenly u-noe-what, unless it's bcos of old age or something, must be murder. O_o

when i was a kid i thought, i wan to live forever and ever and hit mebbe 10,000 years old or something. but then soon i realised that's not possible and human at most live up to 70years old and that's a long life already. i was quite devastated to know that as a fact.

then ever since i found my reason to live right, i made sure i live with integrity and not allow myself the chance to have regrets for my actions. i then constantly reminded myself about the consequences of my decision and made sure i'm fully certain about what i'm doing before i do it. that could be tiring sometimes.

then when i found another reason to live a long life was when i met wilson and i wanted to just walk my lifetime with him by my side. this time i chose to run away from the thought about death. the thought of any one of us leaving first was unbearable and would often bring tears to my eyes.

then i once watched a footage on tv - an interview with S.H.E and ella made this remark. about any one of the 3 girls dying and they forgot about it for a moment and was still in the mindset that the one who left was in fact alive and went to her room to open the door but soon after the door knob turned and the door opened, wad embraced them were just a pang of emptiness and fact that "she" has truly departed. then all 3 girls started crying. guess it was unbearable for them too.

breaking up or losing a relationship is not as dire as death. it's line a thin line that once snaps, one disappears from the face of the earth. that's pretty scary to me. i can never comprehend the impact of it. when steve irwin died i had a hard time swallowing that piece of news.

then i childishly told wilson i wan him to live until 100 years old or if he die first i'll die with him. mebbe i'll will myself to death or something then my heart will stop. O_o u noe what? i'm serious about this thought even if it sounds unlike me or stupid. mebbe i'm that paranoid. then i was chided for being silly of course. i had to look after the cow juniors and junior's juniors.

oh well.

Trying out Botak Jones that's located in Yue Hua kopitiam (lol) in Ang Mo Kio.

Few things that surprised me when I got there.

1. The crowd
2. Crazy queue
3. More than 50% of customers at kopitiam are botak jones'.
4. Uncle tell gu we must wait for 1 hour.
5. The sheer size of their triple patty burgers. (OMG)

I must say the queue really damn long but we didn't take that long to queue. Order taker is efficient!! The queue never ending one loh. surely have someone new coming over to join the line. then staff will come n chat with customers (dispel boredom and potential displeasure in waiting). quite gd actually. then they'll warn customers about the waiting time involved. customers who does not have the luxury of waiting will leave the queue automatically. i think that's gd too. then u save them the waiting time and displeasure of having to realise they have to wait that long after they've waited that long and ... efficient lah.

gu's flipping through their menu. I'm ordering double botak. heh means double beef patty burger with CHEESE!

gu say he is gonna order cajun chicken. he wanted to order separate set of fries (forgetting he is already ordering meal and that comes with fries) then staff reminded him that there'll be a lot of fries at the rate he's placing order (staff there so sweet ah!).

i think right, if u were to go there with a bunch of friends to chat with while waiting, the waiting time is peanuts cos time flies lol one hour of chatting is very achievable.

So far I think the food is gd, service also gd (havent kena anything bad to comment about) so, wad i've witnessed has been staff going the extra mile and it's impt for customers to recognize their efforts if not what's the point right?

Here's my burger!!!!

Double Botak
The double botak

can die right? i see the cheese i want to go crazy already hahaha it's so filling until i think i'm gonna puke cow.

must nt be so greedy. will order single patty nxt time. *regret regret*

gu's cajun chicken.

Cajun Chicken
Cajun Chicken

taste pretty good too!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....!

2 x illustration books by
Takehiko Inoue (on Vagabond).

In case you didn't know, he's the author for SlamDunk as well as Buzzer Beater and REAL (I have em all!)

I'm gonna go dwn to Kinokuniya today.
I've decided to get this two books and once I feel the immense urge to obtain something I'm crazy so I'm gonna get it straight after work today.

I saw this two books previously, think couple of weeks ago, before gu's o levels, and was thrilled by the illustrations yet disturbed by the pricing.

In Japan, I think it's selling at 2450yen per book. Round it off and that's approximately $40.
In Singapore, they're selling it at $60 nearing $70.

I do believe I can get it much cheaper elsewhere but I don't know where "elsewhere" is and I'm feeling very impatient so I'm gonna be a silly fucker.

I briefly saw some of the illustrations on the author's website. and my brain was set ablazed man.

MUSASHI WITH ABS WOO! *rofl*

I wonder if it's selling good. better grab my copies first!

I have a few illustration books at home. Not a very big collection, and definitely not bigger than my comics lol but yea. my first book was SlamDunk's illustration book lol not surprising.

Then my aunt got me something from her japan trip many years ago. During one of my birthday(s) back then dear Bryan was with me in Kinokuniya again when I saw a Hikaru no Go illustration book and was squealing. He told my aunt about it and I actually got it for my birthday!!! SWEET! so right after I get these two books I think I'm gonna be damn happy.

My only regret was not getting 3x3 Eyes's author's illustration book. There were some comics featured that I wasn't keen on and i think it wasn't cheap either and back then being just a student i didn't have much money to splurge on such collectibles. haiz.

I guess I really like the above author alot. Takehiko Inoue. His drawings are.. superb lah. so... please let him be in good health, pls rest whenever u need to rest, take breaks then come back but pls continue to draw!! and i'll be the forever fan in this tiny island called Singapore. lol

Like many fans, i'm also one of the many hoping for a SlamDunk 2.
Not sure if it'll ever happen but doesn't matter. can just hope.

----------

stupid incident -

I bought Buzzer Beater comics for like $9 each if I'm not wrong.
Because it's coloured throughout thus so expensive.

Then, few years dwn the road my mom found it sold in some second hand stall and bought the entire set back for me. she thought i didn't have it.

guess what?

FUCKING 50 CENTS PER BOOK!?

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! *pulls our all my hair*

----------

something on the side i randomly thought of today.

i've always like how it sounds when people speak in cantonese. it's comical and nice and strangely warm. i've seen couples (in the past) speaking to each other in their own dialects rather than the typical chinese or english language and i always thought that was pretty cool or fun at least. like.. to be in a different frequency all of a sudden. if the people around you didn't know that dialect, it's almost like speaking in your own language shared only between you and your partner and it's as though you're in a world of your own for a moment.

it's kinda cute how now i actually realised that tiny dream of mine because wilson so happens to be a cantonese and i can speak a little and we occasionally converse in cantonese too. fun... just that he's not entirely proficient in his dialect either lol sometimes although my vocab lack cos no one to practice with or introduce me to new words, i think my pronounciation is more accurate than his LOL

The Singapore-Johor 2nd Link Bridge Run

To understand more on what this is about,
please click here for article.

xxxxxx

Wilson sorta went off and signed up for this marathon himself along with Hailoon.
I wasn't asked to join them in the run which was very smart of them cos I would've just ignored them anyway LOL cannot make it lah ask me run!!! i will die from asmtha attack. 10KM somemore bo!?

I spent the previous night up till around 2AM, photoshopping the pics we took for the wedding dinner as well as the hari raya visiting (see part 1 of 3 & part 2 of 3 entries below). damn alot of photos to edit man. while i chased wilson off to sleep first since he's gonna run, that boy woke up at 2am to spot check on me. @#%$#%$ so i had to go sleep as well then.

then i had to wake up at around 6AM or so.

*waves middle finger in mid air*

$%^$^%^@#$@!$&%">$%^$^%^@#$@!$&%!!!

i forgot wad we had for breakfast. -_-" *scratch head*
anyway, hailoon took a cab over from her place to mine to pick us up and we'll go together to...

TUAS.

wah then the cabfare hit twenty over dollars. *sob* but i think ok lah considering the distance...

when we got there, quite alot of people have already arrived but i'm still bleary eyed. i want my sleep.. my bolster.. my bed.. rar..

hailoon had all these weird stuff attached to her knee. think it's for preventing injuries i guess.

Here's my gu before the marathon starts.
he joined this marathon for fun thus he's in the 'fun runner' section.

yeah!

Hailoon joined the competitive section.

gu halfway had stomachache. poor boy.

since everyone's off jogging, i went to sit one corner while listening to radio with my hp. i think too much. thought perhaps they'll come back in around 45 to 50 mins later so around 8.30am i started camping near the finishing line with my camera waiting for their return.

the guy to reach first was at 30mins!!! and first lady to reach looks damn fit bo? 36 mins she come in already. *wah.......*

i waited.

and waited.

and waited.

and saw lotsa fit fit men come in.

then i saw boys and girls.

i continue to wait.

and i saw a huge bunch of african boys running in at the same time and the coach cheering them on.

i waited somemore.

and i saw a dad running in with a pram & a kid!
(stylo pop!)

then finally.. one hour later...

hailoon came in first. wanted to take a shot but some woman overtook her and screwed my picture. DAMN!

then i continued camping and wondered if my gu got lost.

then few minutes later i spotted my gu.

so exciting!!! then took camera out and snap immediately.
this time i smarter. i set the camera's capture speed higher.

*takes pompom out to wave frantically*

YAY! GU!

reaching finishing line soon!!!

he's probably like only a few steps away from the finishing line when i took the second pic.
i told u i was camping near the finishing line. found a gd spot.

i think my gu very yandao after the run. SO SPORTY! *swoon like idiot*

but he sweating alot la. cannot hug. ee..

so here's the aftermath of the run.
both no more energy and shag ahahahaha

oh oh. hailoon's sport shoe got this weird clip on. put keys one. lol

we walked out to get a cab but haiz. at such an isolated location.. SIMI CAB! WHERE CAB!? BIRD ALSO DUN WAN TO SHIT HERE CAN!

end up walk till main road then got a cab.
took it to Vivocity for breakfast. heh

went home koonz and knocked out till around 5pm. got up to visit wilson's mom and the kittens. kitty stronger!!! can run to me! no more diarrohea! then i fed them some cat food and they ate hungrily. after eating they got very lethargic so i grabbed them to hug and stroked their tummies. fun.

Updates Part 2 of 3

Saturday had a surprisingly HUUUUUUUUUUGE downpour that lasted for rather long!

We were invited to visit Faridah's house for Hari Raya and was about to leave the house and it started pouring cats n dogs! we could hardly see the road! i think we woke up around eleven plus in the morning and brushed up as usual, preparing to go out.

we've decided to take a bus ride down to Pasir Ris where Faridah stays which proved to be a very wise decision due to the unexpected rain. we brought along an umbrella that was barely shielding us from the rain since the wind is blowing from various directions. we were supposed to take a bus from opp roxy square but ended up eating wanton mee inside first and wait till the rain gets smaller.

when it did, we headed out to cross the overhead bridge and take a bus 12 to faridah's hse. wad a super long journey!!!!

Faridah's house is very nice!!!!! so happens to be a double storey flat with a super nice balcony, nice home decor and furnitures and good scenery! shiok.

the kids were running all over the house, on and off the couches, creating quite a alot of noise.
then they went over to the balcony to take a look at faridah's pet rabbits. quite huge. i heard that she has a cat but it's too shy and decides to hide under one of the beds and we couldn't find it.

corey was insisting on finding the cat and even started making his way up the stairs himself while mumbling 'cat' all the while. sturdy lil boy. so i picked him up and made our way upstairs to look for the cat but to no avail so we came back downstairs. as i passed by the kitchen to look for faridah, corey was saying to faridah "auntie faridah i want to see the cat!".

cute.

everyone else started leaving and since faridah's in-laws came to visit along with some unexpected guest, me n wilson decided to make a move first.

we decided to go to bugis junction and i almost regretted my decision cos the bus ride was daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn long!

but the day proved to be not ill spent since we managed to take our first neoprint ever! (with only two of us, duh!)

turned out pretty cute. coincidentally, the machine we used at the purikura station was the same one billy, sano n i used last year!

nice!

Update 1 part 3

Ding Ding Ding and another member of our Wang family got married!

Just last friday my cousin got married and held his wedding dinner over at the Meridien Mandarin Hotel (coincidentally, the same hotel as Morgan & Angel's!)

It's a joyous occasion and everyone turned out and so our side of the family (we're the grooms' mom's side of family). Since then my mom has been on a shopping frenzy buying up lotsa clothes n shoes and bring my dad around shopping as well. suddenly me n gu got lotsa new clothes too haha

I took an hour off from work to leave earlier so that we can prepare to go to the wedding. it was a damn busy day at work with a sudden influx of issues that require urgent handling. me n gu got home relatively early and started changing and preparing to go out. we took a cab to the hotel...

BUT...

i think the cab drive ke siao. took one big round. down the expressway the traffic was already pretty damn jammed up and the cab driver continued going a more jammed route and our taxi was really expensive man!!

while in the cab i was msging with bryan and they have already reached the hotel early.

our family took up 3 tables!! heheheh i'm sitting near the stage!

the food was pretty good actually but portion quite little.

since i was using normal energizer batteries with my digicam it's quite stupid cos battery die out super fast!!! can u imagine i used up like... 6 batteries or something!? wah lau. at one point i even had to use handphone to take pictures instead until my uncle save me with new batteries LOL

i took around thirty over shots with my camera and surprise surprise! my uncle took around thirty over shots too! he just bought a new dvcam and geez. expensive stuff.

i guess you can say i'm pretty hyper that day to be surrounded by relatives is a very comfortable feeling because they are family. i was seated with my cousins so that added to the joy factor as well. alot of the elders didn't recognize me immediately that day (maybe not used to seeing me in a dress) lol and when they did, they came over to grab me tsk. then got smacked on right cheek twice and right arms. LOL

the wedding dinner lasted till eleven plus at night and my parents took a bus home. wilson and i joined by 2 aunts, bryan and kristi for coffee over at starbucks. it's party to help my aunt sober up since she had quite alot to drink that night.

SAKAE SUSHI HERE WE COME!

No, the boys below are not picking their teeth.

They... are biting edamame seeds pods. LOL

so unglam bo?

wilson had his exams in the morning. hardworking boboy!!!
so unlike me. lazy pig at home sleeeeeeeeep.
my dad very kanchiong also. so he made us (CO-ERCED!) drink chicken essence!!!!!
my god lo. at night drink brands chicken essence. nuts one.
end up both of us hyper CANNOT SLEEP!!?? *pulls hair*
wilson have to wake up at 6am in the morn for exams so....
we switched on the air con.
when i heard wilson's snoring i know he fell asleep so i edged towards the side of the bed and away from him. in case i wake him up when i fidget.

i so poor thing. haiz.

woke up from a light tapping sound coming from the door.
i was wondering how come my mom so demure this morning.
TAP leh! normally she'll like BANG the door one.
if three bangs doesn't render a reaction whereby one of us shouts "OK!!!!",
she will bang repeatedly. very scary mama.

then.. mom tell me secret.
the demure tap was from DAD.
*falls down frm chair*

why would my dad be waking us up? cos my dad dotes on wilson alot too!
to my surprise he is just as anxious about wilson's exams as me n mom.
he would normally wake up earlier to go work but this time round he decides to wait up a little more for wilson to wake up as well. in simple words, he is waiting for wilson...

to feed him more Brand's chicken essence.

wahahahaha

my dad is more naggy than my mom.
but i can see that he really dotes on wilson alot.
which is cool cos at least i know he accepts this boy and wilson is also someone whom i deem honest and down to earth and worthy of my parent's doting. so it's kinda heart warming to know that stuff like this is happening in my own home.

my dad now will chase wilson to bathe and eat rather than me (lol!)
change of target. SWEE!!!! hahahahaha now i can be ... free!!!
mom gives us fair share of nagging altho i know she's tempted to shave all his leg hair away. he has been.. "shedding".

she once said that if one fine day she goes crazy she'll collect all the leg hairs he shed and boil them in soup and feed him. tsk. torture. mom is bonkers already.

after wilson's exams we went to orchard to meet up with sano n kelvin for makan @ sakae sushi! had the buffet and i ate alot hehe.. actually.. not alot lah. shld've ordered more salmon sushi n soft shell crabs. *sob*

after which, i dragged them to take neoprints!!!

recently i have this want to take neoprints for wadever reasons.
mebbe cos i still think those i took with sano n billy was damn sweet.

*KELV KOR GO KOREAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAA*

okok here's the pics.

after our neoprint session we went to paragon's starbucks to relax and chill out.

sano bought tickets for us (excluding kelv) to watch Death Note at night.
kelv's going korea so he can't join us.

I though the movie was fine.
i like the guy who acted as L.
think he did a pretty decent job. but as usual as alike the thoughts of many others, i don't really like the how Kira was portrayed in the movie. it's not about him starting off as evil. that wasn't my concern. it's just... i don't feel anything at all. i don't share the character's thoughts. the manga for death note is full of words i admit. there's DAMN ALOT of inner dialogues. but all i see in the kira up on the screen were.. facial expressions but i could not feel for them. in fact, i even thought the facial expressions were excessive for kira probably will start to appear more indifferent towards his killings and focus more on the timeliness or whether things are going according to plan in the manga.. the on screen kira seems.. reckless.

and one thing of which i've been complaining non stop about...

THE ON SCREEN KIRA DAMN WASTE PAPER BO!? EVERY NAME WRITE FRIVOLOUSLY ON NEW PAGE!!!

kira's supposed to be meticulous and neat. BAH!

danger and frustrations of loyal manga readers watching the live adaption wahahahahaha

nxt show i wanna watch is..

TAIYOU NO UTA

looking forward! it'll be out in december.

oh btw, death note: the last name (nxt movie) will be out in late december.

my company's dinner and dance photos taken by professinal photographers are out. will order soon. i feel like frying the guy cos the shots he take of me damn unglam wahahaha

tonight's my cousin's wedding dinner. i intend to bring camera to attack my dear cousins and relatives. must take tons and tons of photos!
